“For months, detectives from the Property Crimes Investigations Unit began an investigation into a narcotics and firearm trafficking operation occurring within Santa Rosa. A primary component to this investigation was the identification of the involved subjects, their vehicles, their residences, and other potential co-conspirators. During a lengthy investigative process, officers were able to identify two primary suspects:
Christian Alex Cortes-Torres, 20-year-old male from Santa Rosa
Daniel Cortes-Torres, 23-year-old male from Santa Rosa.
On June 1, 2021 at 3:20PM, Christian and Daniel were detained during a traffic stop in the 2060 block of West College Av, Santa Rosa. During the traffic stop, officers located suspected cocaine, suspected pressed pills of fentanyl and approximately $2,500 in cash.
A short time later, a search warrant was conducted at Christian and Daniel’s home in the 2800 block of Apply Valley Lane. Detectives located an illegally modified AR-15, a stolen .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun, a .9mm semiautomatic handgun, and a Polymer 80 non-serialized and yet to be assemble firearm kit. Detectives also located high capacity firearm magazines FOR SALE, 2 ½ oz of suspected methamphetamine, one ounce of psilocybin mushrooms, 100’s of pressed fentanyl pills meant to look like oxycodone and approximately $2,000 more in cash.
Based on the investigation, evidence seized during the traffic stop and evidence located during the search warrant, Detectives arrested Christian and Daniel for the following charges:

Daniel and Christian were later booked into the Sonoma County Jail without incident. PCI Detectives obtained bail enhancements for both suspects. Daniel’s bail is $200,000 and Christian’s bail is $100,000.”
