Originally published as a Redwood City Police Department press release –
“On Monday June 7th at 7:01 a.m., Redwood City Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Willow and Spring Streets for several vehicle code violations.
The driver and passenger were contacted at the scene. Daniel Monroy, the passenger, displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Monroy was searched and officers found a Smith & Wesson .32 caliber revolver containing two live rounds in the cylinder.
The firearm was later discovered to be stolen. Monroy was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail fore carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a dirk or dagger, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.”
