On the late afternoon of June 2, a physical altercation was reported to the Monterey Police in the 200 block of Figueroa Street.
The report was that the fight was between a male and a greoup of males. Arriving officers were informed that one of the males lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun.
The group of males were gone. The individual male had a slight injury to his head but declined medical treatment.
The group of males were located at a nearby business.21-year-old Jaylen Carreon Rodriguez had “a gun concealed on his person.”
Carreon had ammunition and a high capacity 50 round drum in his car.
Carreon was arrested and charged with possession of a loaded firearm in a public place, carrying an unregistered firearm, and possession of a high capacity magazine.
His bail was set at $30,000, which he posted before being released.
