“VALLEJO, Calif. – On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 6:04 p.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officers assigned to the Solano Area were notified of a hit-and-run collision in the area of westbound Interstate 80, west of Magazine Street.
Officers responded and located an abandoned vehicle. They subsequently discovered the vehicle had been the target of a freeway shooting, and the driver had fled the scene. Officers obtained video of the freeway shooting from the cameras of a third party traveling in the area at the time of the shooting.
Detectives from CHP’s Golden Gate Division assumed the lead on the investigation and identified a suspect in the shooting.
A search warrant was served, and the suspect was arrested without incident. Stoney Curtis, a 58-year-old from Vallejo, was booked at the Solano County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) and shooting at an occupied vehicle.”
