“On June 3, 2021, at 3:41 p.m., a Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) officer located a subject that matched the description of the person involved in the attempted homicide on the 1500 block of Warburton Avenue on May 30, 2021. The alleged subject peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody without incident near the intersection of Scott Boulevard and Monroe Street.
Detectives positively identified the alleged subject as suspect Robert Smith, and he was arrested and booked him into the Santa Clara County Jail for further criminal proceedings.

Residence: Unhoused in Santa Clara County
Charges: 644/187 PC – Attempted homicide (2 counts)
1203.2(A) PC – Probation Violation
205 PC – Aggravated Mayhem (2 counts)
Since this assault on May 30, 2021, members of SCPD worked tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect. The Santa Clara Police Department appreciates the ongoing support of our community and patience while we carefully investigated this crime. This remains an active investigation.
