“On June 9, 2021, at about 7:34 A.M., officers were dispatched to 1017 Oak Street (Hampton Inn), regarding a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bakersfield Police Department Homicide Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
Further investigation led to the identification of two suspects in the homicide. Angel Cordero (24) and Jerry Ortega (20) were located and arrested on June 10, 2021. Both subjects were found to be in possession of firearms at the time of their arrests.
Cordero and Ortega were arrested for murder, conspiracy, gang participation and being felons in possession of firearms. They were transported and booked into the Kern County Jail.
An additional subject, Sabino Ramos (45), was also arrested for acting as an accessory to murder, and gang participation. He was also transported and booked into the Kern County Jail.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.”
