LOS ANGELES – A dental office on Beverly Boulevard at Normandie Avenue was the scene of sexual
assaults for victims between the ages of 27 to 73 years. Los Angeles County District Attorney George
Gascón has announced that Emad Fathy Moawad (dob 8/13/70) of Marina del Rey faces nine counts of
sexual battery by restraint, three counts of sexual penetration by use of force and one count of attempted
sexual penetration by use of force.
Between the years of 2013 and 2018, nine patients were assaulted by their dentist. “This case is
especially concerning because its victims are low-income people and immigrants who are less likely to
report crimes due to fear,” said DA Gascón.
The dentist was charged with assault via a criminal complaint filed on June 14th. The arraignment of the
complaint in case BA496197 was continued to June 16th in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice
Center.
“We are asking other possible victims to come forward and help us keep our community safe,” urged DA
