“On June 18, 2021 at approximately 3:43 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to a disturbance in the 800 Block of Jeffery Road. The female caller reported her ex-boyfriend , 36-year-old Jerry Galindo Martinez of Los Banos, had a firearm and was attempting to break into her residence. Officers were already searching for Martinez regarding a separate criminal threats case which was reported the prior evening.
Officers arrived and located the suspect vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 1600 Block of Canal Farm Ln. An elderly female walked out of the residence and reported that an unknown male was inside of her home. Officers set up a perimeter around the home and used the public address system to call the suspect out of the residence.
After approximately an hour, Detectives obtained a search warrant and requested the Merced County Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. team respond to assist. S.W.A.T. team members used a specialized robot to search the inside of the residence and call the suspect out of the house. At approximately 8:15 p.m., Martinez voluntarily walked out of the residence and was placed under arrest. A search of the residence was completed and a replica handgun was located.
Martinez was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail, pending $50,000.00 bail, charged with criminal threats and resisting arrest.”
