“On Sunday, June 13th, 2021 at approximately 11:12 AM, an RPD Officer was patrolling the area of North Bonnyview Road near East Bonnyview Rd. The Officer observed a BMW sedan driving recklessly in the area. The Officer caught up to the vehicle in the area Old Barn Way near Barrel Court.
The driver, later identified as Gabriel Joseph Detrant 47 years, threw approximately 14 ounces of methamphetamine and 2.6 ounces of heroin out the window before stopping for the Officer.
Detrant is currently on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for 11366 HS, maintaining a place for selling, using or giving away a controlled substance. Detrant was arrested and booked at the Shasta County Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine, possession of heroin for sale, transportation of heroin and violation of his PRCS status.
Detrant has significant criminal history in Shasta County that dates back to 1993. He has been booked at the Shasta County Jail over 50 times since. This is the third time he has been arrested in Shasta County in possession of controlled substances for the purpose of sales since the beginning of this year.
The Redding Police Department will continue to arrest those individuals who sell illegal drugs in our community, even though some are not eligible for state prison under current state laws.”
