Hit and run, followed by chase, ended in another crash

At about 1 p.m., officers received reports of a hit-and-run involving a white car on Martinelli St.

The driver, later identified as Curt Wilcox, left the scene of the crash and continued to drive with a flat tire. Officers spotted Wilcox driving against traffic and attempted to pull him over.

Wilcox, who was in a white Chrysler Sebring, refused to stop and made his way into the Watsonville Fire Department’s parking lot on Airport Blvd. It is here where the suspect rammed his car into two unoccupied training vehicles used by the fire department.

Our officers quickly took the man into custody.

We are still working to determine if Wilcox was driving under the influence.”
