Attempted Homicide Arrest

“On 7/13/2021 at 11:02 PM, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 0-100 block of Center St. Officers found a male victim (35) who was apparently stabbed by his roommate.

As officers attempted to sort things out, witnesses immediately directed officers to the suspect, Rafael Lopez (24), who was walking away from the residence. Lopez was detained outside the residence.

It appears Lopez slashed the victim with a lettuce cutting knife. The knife was found in front of the residence.

The investigation revealed the altercation/argument was over Lopez (who had been drinking) playing loud music while other occupants in the residence were trying to go to sleep. When the victim confronted Lopez, he attacked the victim with the lettuce knife stabbing the victim in the shoulder area.”
