Wanted Sonora man leads Officers on foot chase through local business

“On Monday, July 12th, during the 5 P.M. hour, our dispatch center received a phone call that a known theft suspect was in the store. The subject was identified as 24 year-old Joseph Rizzuto of Sonora.
A records check of Rizzuto confirmed that he had four Felony Warrants for his arrest. Rizzuto was also named as a suspect from a burglary on June 29, 2021 where he eluded Law Enforcement in Jamestown.
Officer’s located Rizzuto inside a business in the 1000 block of Sanguinetti Rd. and a foot pursuit ensued. With the assistance of a good Samaritan, Rizzuto was taken into custody without further incident.
Rizzuto was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail where he was booked for his warrants and additional charges of resisting arrest and shop lifting. Rizzuto’s bail was set at $95,000.”
