Arrests Made For Theft of Catalytic Converters and Possession of Controlled Substances

“On July 9th, 2021, at approximately 2:35 am, a San Luis Obispo Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Los Osos Valley Rd. and Froom Ranch for a vehicle code violation. When the officer contacted the driver and passengers, he was able to see in plain view two catalytic converters lying on the rear floorboard of the vehicle. The officer also discovered various tools used in the theft of the converters along with suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Thai Vue, the driver of the suspect vehicle, and his passengers John Vue and Pheng Moua were arrested on the following charges:
Thai Vue: PC 496- possession of stolen property, PC 487- Grand theft, PC 182- Conspiracy, PC 666- Theft with a prior, VC 14601.2 – Driving on a suspended license, H&S 11377- Possession of a controlled substance, H&S 11364- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
John Vue: PC 496- possession of stolen property, PC 487- Grand theft, PC 182- Conspiracy.
Pheng Moua: PC 496- possession of stolen property, PC 487- Grand theft, PC 182- Conspiracy, H&S 11377- Possession of a controlled substance, PC 148.9- Providing false identification to a police officer, PC 466- Possession of burglary tools.
San Luis Obispo Police Detectives are actively investigating this case to determine if there are more victims to be identified in our city.”
