FREMONT — A man arrested while getting a haircut has 10 felony charges hanging over him. The suspect is accused of shooting multiple rounds at a driver trying to get away from him one week earlier.
This shooting occurred July 16 on the 38000 block of Mission Boulevard at approximately 7:44 a.m. The victim had stopped to meet a woman when he noticed the suspect approaching him.
The victim told police that the suspect started yelling and reached into his waistband. In response, the victim accelerated and began driving away, when the suspect started shooting at him.
Fortunately, the victim was not injured, and he was able to provide police with a description of the suspect’s vehicle. The same vehicle was recorded by security cameras, as the suspect fled from the area.
For several days, detectives searched for the suspect male and a woman who was with him. Warrants were obtained to arrest them.
On July 23, a SWAT team was organized to apprehend 21-year-old Alexander Inguanzo, a resident of Fremont. However, the SWAT preparations proved unnecessary.
While waiting for the SWAT team to arrive, detectives monitoring Inguanzo arrested him. Inguanzo was nabbed at Mission Barber, located at 43279 Mission Boulevard.
Inguanzo was booked into Santa Rita Jail. He remains in custody in lieu of $200,000 bond, pending a plea hearing on August 10. He faces 10 separate weapons-related charges, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm.
The 19-year-old woman who was with Inguanzo ultimately was not arrested in connection with the shooting. Instead, she was arrested for possession of controlled substances for sale and outstanding warrants. She was picked up on the 38000 block of Godfrey Place.
