“On July 27 at approximately 11;10 a.m., Marysville police officers and Marysville firew personnel responded to a fully engulfed structure fire at 1107 Ramirez Street. They quickly evacuated the inhabited apartment complex. There were no residents found to be injured and only a few were treated for smoke inhalation by ambulance personnel.
Through an investigation into the cause of the fire, police officers determined 19-year-old Dejanae Lemae Morris had intentionally caused the fire. Morris is a resident at 1107 Ramirez Street.
The fire caused a total loss to 1 apartment, severe smoke damage to 5 apartments and minor smoke damage to the remainder of the complex.
The fire caused damga to the building’s structural integrity, causing residents in 18 apartments to be displaced.
The American Red Cross and Trauma Intervention personnel assisted in providing resources and temporary living assistance to those families affected by displacement.
After th einvestigation was concluded, Morris was booked for 451(b) PC, Arson to an inhabited building. Morris remains in custody at the Yuba County Jail with a bail amount of $250,000 pending future court proceedings.”
