San Mateo Police: Stolen vehicle, burglary suspect tracked to local motel
San Mateo police have arrested two people on suspicion of residential burglary after finding the allegedly stolen vehicle used in the crime at a local motel.
On the morning of Tuesday, July 13, officers found the stolen vehicle unoccupied at a motel in the area of North Bayshore Boulevard and Monte Diablo Avenue. Police say the vehicle had been used in a recent residential burglary and a subsequent police pursuit in which the suspects ultimately escaped.
Surveillance video obtained from the parking lot of the motel reportedly showed a man park the car and enter a nearby motel room registered to a second individual. Officers set up surveillance and, eventually, the second individual — identified as 32-year-old Rosalinda Campos-Gonzalez — arrived in her own vehicle along with the first suspect, identified as 34-year-old Justin Adams.
Both were detained while police searched the vehicles and motel room. Police found ammunition in Campos-Gonzalez’s vehicle and a “ghost gun” among her belongings in the room. In the stolen vehicle, police say they found evidence linking Adams not only to the theft of the vehicle, but also evidence of mail- and identity theft.
Both individuals were ultimately arrested and booked on a variety of charges.
