“Investigators with MPD’s Major Crimes Unit made three arrests as a result of a lengthy investigation into cocaine sales that have been occurring in Modesto and surrounding areas over the last several months.
On Thursday, July 22, 2021, investigators observed a drug transaction related to their investigation that took place in the Century Center parking lot at East Orangeburg Avenue and Oakdale Road. This led to a traffic stop of the involved vehicle. During the traffic stop, one kilo of cocaine was located in the vehicle. The driver, 23-year-old Luis Zamudio of Riverbank, was arrested and charged with felony drug charges for purchasing/selling narcotics.
Additionally, a search warrant was conducted at a residence on Hot Springs Lane in Riverbank in association with this investigation. With the help of MPD’s Crime Reduction Team, Violent Crimes Unit, Street Gang Unit and the Central Valley Gang Intelligence Task Force, a large amount of cash and cocaine were located in the residence.
A total of $109,000 in cash and 8 pounds of cocaine were seized during this investigation resulting in the arrests of 23-year-old Gilberto Robles and 31-year-old Carlos Valenzuela, both of Riverbank, on various felony drug charges. Additional child endangerment charges were added due to children being in the Riverbank home.”
