Redding Police: Six arrested amid ongoing investigation into narcotics sales

Since May, 2021, Officers from the Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU) have been conducting an ongoing narcotics sales investigation involving Kieran Garcia (29 years of Redding). Officers learned that Kieran Garcia was involved in the illegal sales of fentanyl, methamphetamine and heroin. During the course of this investigation, NPU developed information about another associated drug dealer living in the area of Lake Blvd, in the City of Redding. NPU found that Michael Haneline (50 years of Redding) was dealing illegal drugs within the City of Redding, and illegally possessed firearms.

 

NPU obtained a search warrant for Haneline’s residence and served it on July 16th, 2021. During that search warrant, NPU located approximately 7 lbs of methamphetamine, ½ lbs of heroin, and 5 illegally possessed firearms. One of the firearms was previously reported stolen. Haneline was booked at the Shasta County Jail for numerous drug and weapons charges.

 

On August 12, 2021 at approximately 12:50 P.M., NPU officers teamed up with Officers from the Redding Police Department, Redding Police Detectives, Agents from Shasta County Narcotics Task Force, Shasta County District Attorney Investigators, and Homeland Security Investigations to serve a search warrant at Kieran Garcia’s residence in the 20000 block of Sunset Lane. Officers also searched a storage facility in north east Redding related to this case.

 

As officers were enroute to the Sunset Lane address, they located Kieran Garcia and Morgan Tadlock (24 years of Redding) driving in the area of Airport Road. Garcia and Tadlock were contacted and found to be in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, $2,250 in cash and a loaded firearm. While officers were speaking with Garcia it appeared that he and adverse reaction to fentanyl which he admitted to using one hour earlier. Medical personal responded and Garcia and Tadlock were taken to a local hospital for evaluation, prior to being booked at the Shasta County Jail.

 

Officers arrived at the Sunset Lane address and served the search warrant. Numerous people were contacted to include Charles William Newton III, Crystal Celano and Ryan Ebert (each 38 year old Redding residents). Newton was found trying to destroy evidence in the residence and delayed the investigation. Celano was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for her arrest. Ebert was found to be in possession methamphetamine and fentanyl. All were arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail.

 

The Neighborhood Police Unit will continue to work with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to use all tools necessary to combat fentanyl. There has been in increase in fentanyl related overdoses and deaths in Shasta County over the past year. NPU will continue to work with allied agencies in an effort to fight this drug, and help keep our community safe.
