Sacramento man arrested on suspicion of murder in death of 5-year-old child

“At 11:07 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a request to assist Metro Fire on a medical call on the 2500 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard for a five year old child who was not breathing.
The child was transported to the hospital while the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse Detectives investigated the scene. On Thursday, August 5, 2021, the five year old male victim died. A medical evaluation indicated he had been subjected to abuse.
On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jason Rahul Chitnis (21 Yrs) of Sacramento County after obtaining an arrest warrant for Homicide and Assault Resulting in the Death of a Child. Chitnis is being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail without bail pending his first court appearance on Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Department 62.”
