Felons Arrested at Hotel for Identity Theft, Handgun Possession, Child Cruelty

FREMONT—Two 38-year-old felons, Jessica R. Pappalardo of Fremont and William H. Curtis of Hayward were arrested again this month. They have been charged for felony handgun possession, identity theft, and child cruelty by inflicting injury.
Detectives learned Pappalardo was fraudulently renting a room at the Hyatt Place Fremont hotel on August 18. Moreover, she was wanted for an outstanding parole violation warrant.
During a search of the room, detectives found a loaded semi-automatic handgun. They also recovered suspected methamphetamine, and evidence of identity theft involving 10 victims.
Pappalardo and her companion Curtis were taken into custody at the hotel on August 18. They both remain confined behind bars at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, pending pretrial hearings on September 10. Bond for Pappalardo was set at $60,000, and bond for Curtis was set at $100,000.
Pappalardo and Curtis have each been in and out of jail and sentenced to probation multiple times. Pappalardo lists her occupation as a “handyman” and Curtis is unemployed.
Pappalardo has prior arrests involving assault and vehicle theft. She was convicted for an assault and spent time in state prison.
Curtis who also uses the first name alias “Jamal” has an even more extensive rap sheet.
He has 11 prior arrests on his record for offenses, including vehicle thefts, burglaries, and possession of
controlled substances.
In 2013, Curtis was convicted for vehicle theft. In 2005, he was convicted for first-degree residential burglary.
