“Having two officers in a police car is helpful when there are multiple people in a car during a traffic stop.
Recently, when our officers pulled a driver over, the driver got out of the car and tried to walk away. The man complied when the officer told him to stop.
Meantime, the officer’s partner was speaking to the passenger who was slurring her words. She also got out of the car without the officer asking her to.
The officer spotted a methamphetamine pipe on her seat and told his partner who then evaluated her for being under the influence of narcotics.
The driver admitted to the officers that he didn’t have a driver’s license or insurance. As he was being cited for a suspended license and no insurance, he told officers there was fentanyl in the car, which can be very dangerous, even deadly.
Taking necessary precautions, the officers safely removed the fentanyl and found cocaine and Xanax pills. The man was arrested on drug charges and the woman was arrested for being under the influence of drugs.”
