“On February 13, 2021, at approximately 1052 am, Officers of the Banning Police Department were radio dispatched to a report of a past sexual assault that occurred in the 5000 block of W. Wilson Street, in the City of Banning, County of Riverside.
The victim reported that an unknown male subject gave her a ride home from a local establishment, where he sexually assaulted and burglarized her home, before fleeing the location. The Banning Police Department Detective Bureau assumed the investigation and after an extensive investigation 29-year-old suspect, Esteban Abarca of San Bernardino California was identified.
On August 20, 2021, Esteban Abarca was placed under arrest and booked into the Riverside County Jail for Sexual assault and burglary. A search warrant of the suspect’s house (4000 Block of North E Street in the City of San Bernardino, County of San Bernardino) was executed on 08-20-2021, where additional evidence was located including illegally possessed firearms.
