On the morning of August 26 an officer with the La Mesa Police Department was conducting a traffic stop when he heard a male “yelling for help.”
The 82-year-old El Cajon resident had just been carjacked.
Apparently the victim had picked up the suspect, who had offered to help him. They then got into an argument in which the suspect hit the victim in his head and forced him out of his vehicle.
The suspect then drove away. 29-year-old Tymody Wallace was located in Irvine and arrested. Charges are being pursued against him for carjacking, felony battery and elder abuse.
