Woman Arrested for Murder after Reporting Robberies of Prostitutes and Johns
OAKLAND — A woman who contacted police to report armed robbers were targeting prostitutes and johns was arrested for killing one of the victims. She is being held in custody ineligible for release on bond.
The suspect is 20-year-old Jaylynnkellr Walton of Oakland. Walton allegedly participated in some of the robberies and told police that she “accidentally” shot one robbery victim.
Oakland PD responded to a shooting on the night of July 6 on East 19 th Street, near Roosevelt Middle School. The victim Francisco Rosa-Rosales, 43 of Martinez, was transported to a hospital, where he subsequently died.
Walton was brought to the Oakland police station for questioning August 23. While she was there, she admitted that she participated in robberies, with two suspects not yet publicly identified.
Her confession was recorded on cameras, as she admitted to telling her mother that she “accidentally” shot the victim. Apparently, she initially contacted the police because she was afraid for her own personal safety.
For her actions, Walton was arrested August 23 and she was booked into Santa Rita Jail on the following day. She is scheduled to appear at the East County Hall of Justice for a plea hearing on September 13.
