“On Tuesday September 14, 2021 Redding Police officers responded to the 2900 block of Polk St. for a report of an interrupted residential burglary. The victim had returned home to find Geoffrey McKay, 24 years old of Klamath Falls Oregon, inside of the victim’s apartment.
Geoffrey McKay had rummaged through the victim’s apartment and had packaged up various items to steal. Upon the victim confronting Geoffrey McKay, Geoffrey McKay assaulted the victim and the two became involved in a physical fight.
Geoffrey McKay fled from the residence on foot and the victim was able to call the police. Responding Officers located Geoffrey McKay running through the neighborhood.
Geoffrey McKay attempted to avoid arrest by fleeing from officers. Officers caught up with him after a short foot pursuit. Geoffrey McKay violently resisted arrest. K-9 Chase was deployed and assisted arresting officers in overcoming Geoffrey McKay’s resistance.
Geoffrey McKay was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, and ultimately booked into the Shasta County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, residential burglary, and resisting arrest.”
