On September 10, 2021, at approximately 7:38 a.m., The Davis Police Department Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a male subject behaving erratically in South Davis. According to witnesses, the male was seen walking in the middle of the street punching vehicles.
While officers were enroute, additional callers reported the male was seen pushing a female juvenile from her bicycle and assaulting her. Witnesses were seen chasing the male subject away before he could further harm anyone else. The juvenile and witnesses left the area prior to officers’ arrival.
Investigators were later able to locate the 15 year-old juvenile victim who had sustained minor injuries. The suspect was also later identified as Jesse Reeves, a 32 year-old male out of Davis.
On September 12, 2021, officers and detectives served a search warrant at Reeves’ Davis residence. Reeves was taken into custody without incident in downtown Davis and was booked into the Yolo County Jail for felony child endangerment.
