Fifty Year Old Yucca Valley Man Arrested for the Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child – Held on $750,000 Bail

SUMMARY: “On September 17, 2021, detectives from the Specialized Investigation Division arrested Jeremie Cox, a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy, for the continuous sexual abuse of a child.
The investigation began after a male victim reported Cox sexually abused him during the victim’s youth. Cox was arrested and booked in at the Central Detention Center where he remains in custody on $750,000 bail.
Sheriff Shannon Dicus said, “It is extremely disturbing when a member of this Department behaves in a manner that contradicts what we stand for as a law enforcement agency. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will ensure this case is investigated completely and thoroughly.”
None of the crimes committed by Cox occurred during the course of his duties as a deputy sheriff. Jeremie Cox is no longer employed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
UPDATE: September 20, 2021: The following information is being made available in regards to the recent arrest of Jeremie Cox. Cox was employed as a Deputy Sheriff with San Bernardino County for 25 years. His most recent assingment was with the Desert/Mountain Courts Division in the Morongo Basin. He began that assignment in October 2005.”
