Man attacks officer, bystanders intervene to help detain suspect

“On 9-17-21 at approximately 11:13 p.m. a Visalia Police Officer observed a disturbance in the 100 Block of W. Main St. As the officer was exiting his patrol car, he was attacked by Rhys Enloe (32).
This was an unprovoked attack by Rhys Enloe who was not involved in the initial disturbance. Rhys Enloe struck the officer in the face with a closed fist knocking the officer into his patrol car. Rhys Enloe continued attacking the officer inside the patrol car.
Bystanders rushed to assist the officer and pulled Rhys Enloe off the officer. Rhys Enloe continued to fight with the officer and the bystanders. Additional officers arrived on scene and eventually took Rhys Enloe into custody.
Rhys Enloe was transported and booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial facility for Battery on a Police Officer and resisting arrest.
The involved officer received minor injuries as a result of this unprovoked attack, but did not require medical attention.”
