Three Teens Arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery at a Shopping Center
PLEASANTON — Three gun-toting teenagers were taken into custody on suspicion of attempted armed robbery at a shopping center. The incident occurred during the middle of the afternoon on September 27.
Police responded to the Stoneridge Shopping Center. The victim was accosted in the parking lot at approximately 1 p.m., when she exited from her car.
A group of three teenagers approached the victim and demanded that she hand over her purse, and her car.
First, one of the suspects grabbed and held the victim by her arms. A second suspect pointed a semi-automatic pistol directly towards her face.
Nevertheless, the brave victim resisted and was able to pull away from the suspects, and she started yelling for help. The commotion prompted all three suspects to flee from the shopping center on foot.
Responding officers located the victim who was shaken, but otherwise unharmed. She was able to provide descriptions of the suspects.
Pleasanton police officers and detectives commenced searching for the suspects in collaboration with shopping center security guards. BART police officers from the nearby West Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station also assisted.
Pleasanton officers and detectives located the three suspects nearby. They also recovered the firearm suspected of being used during this attempted armed robbery.
The three juveniles were arrested and transported to Alameda County Juvenile Hall in San Leandro. They were booked on numerous felony charges.
