The armed suspect was a black male wearing a white shirt, black pants and a black backpack.
The caller said she did not know the man, and then her call ended.
Responding officers spotted a black backpack, with agun inside, “on top of a bush underneath the woman’s second story balcony.”
No one in the apartment responded to the officer’s knocks, so the officers kicked the door open.
An officer-involved shooting then occurred, with a woman being shot once in her shoulder. A black male also inside the apartment was not injured.
The woman sustained a non life-threatening wound, was treated at the hospital and released.
It turns out the black male was the woman’s boyfriend and had prevented her from answering the door.
