16-year-old arrested on suspicion of robbery at knifepoint in Shasta Lake
A 16-year-old juvenile was recently arrested in connection to an alleged armed robbery outside of a Shasta Lake Burger King, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
In the early morning hours of Monday, September 27, Shasta County deputies responded to the AM/PM gas station on Cascade Boulevard, where they met with a man who said he’d been robbed at knifepoint behind the Burger King nearby. The suspect, who the victim estimated to be around 16 years old, then fled with three other apparent juveniles.
Shortly thereafter, deputies located four juveniles walking with a man identified as 27-year-old Curtis M. Clarkson. Of the juveniles, one of them was positively identified by the victim as the suspect who’d robbed him. Deputies also later found the knife the teen allegedly used.
Deputies found that another of the juveniles was carrying a backpack containing alcohol, marijuana, and paraphernalia, which they ultimately discovered had been provided by Clarkson. In light of this, Clarkson was arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and booked at the Shasta County Jail.
