“Over the past few days, SPD officers have responded to several collisions involving pedestrians resulting in serious injuries:
On 10/1/2021 at approximately 8:24 AM, officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision where a 13-year-old was struck by a Silverado pick up truck as she crossed the street westbound in the crosswalk in the area of N. Sanborn Rd. at Oregon St.
She suffered major injuries; she was transported to a Santa Clara hospital for treatment. The driver (40) remained on scene and was cooperative. He was licensed, insured, no alcohol and no drugs. The investigation is continuing.
On September 30th at approximately 4:53 PM, officers investigated another vehicle versus pedestrian collision where a victim (60) was crossing the street at the crosswalk in the area of Romie Lane at S. Main St when a pickup truck making a left turn stuck her. The victim suffered serious injuries.
The driver stopped provided a statement and is cooperating in the investigation. There is no indication drugs or alcohol were a factor, Officers continue to investigate this collision.
On Friday at 7:30 pm in the 400 block of N. Sanborn Rd., a black Honda struck a bicyclist and fled the area. The vehicle was abandoned several blocks away and the driver has not been located. This hit and run collision left the victim suffering serious injury. This is also an ongoing investigation.”
