“On October 14th at 7:45 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person seen taking mail out of mailboxes along Linda Drive in North Auburn and stealing tools out of a truck. Deputies contacted the suspect and identified him as 33-year old David Fuchs of Auburn. They found Fuchs in possession of mail belonging to over 25 victims. The tools Fuchs stole out of the truck were worth about $1,500. Fuchs was arrested for grand theft, mail theft and identity theft. Fuchs was released from custody later that morning.
At 6:30 p.m. that same day, deputies responded to a burglary on Panorama Way in North Auburn. The victim reported his home been burglarized sometime between October 11-14. The suspect stole clothing, bedding and a wedding band. The suspect also spray painted the walls and floors inside the house, with an estimated damage of $1,000. Deputies discovered evidence inside the home that led them to believe Fuchs had burglarized the home. Deputies located Fuchs and found him wearing the victim’s shoes, along with the victim’s clothing in his vehicle. Fuchs was re-arrested and charged with burglary, vandalism and possession of stolen property.”
