Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Team October 5th, thru October 14th, 2021
On 10/05/2021, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation in the 7000 block of Adams Road in Jenny Lind. Deputies eradicated 2,887 growing marijuana plants and 77 pounds of processed marijuana with an estimated value exceeding $3,853,000. Upon law enforcement arrival at the property, two people attempted to flee from the scene and were apprehended by deputies and ultimately placed under arrest. The residence and a large metal shop building had been entirely converted to facilitate indoor marijuana cultivation. Modifications to the shop building included the addition of a second interior level which was used exclusively for cultivating marijuana.
Calaveras County Code Enforcement Officers responded to the site and Red Tagged it for numerous violations and hazards. Yueneng Chen , age 33 of Valley Springs, and Ye Wubing, age 46 of Valley Springs, were booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of 11358 (c) H&S Illegal Marijuana Cultivation, 11359 (b) H&S Possession of Marijuana For Sale, and 148 PC Resist or Obstruct a Peace Officer. Evidence was collected at the site and the investigation is ongoing.
On 10/06/2021, a search warrant was served in the 2000 block of Stagecoach Road in Copperopolis. Deputies seized 116 growing marijuana plants with an estimated value exceeding $81,000. Alvaro Ernesto Garcia, age 56 of Copperopolis, was issued a citation on charges of 11358 (C) H&S Illegal Marijuana Cultivation, 11359 (b) H&S Possession of Marijuana For Sale, and 182 (a)(1) PC Conspiracy to Commit Crime. Evidence was collected at the site and the investigation is ongoing.
On 10/14/2021, a search warrant was served in the 4000 block of Blue Mountain Road in Wilseyville. Deputies seized 135 growing marijuana plants with an estimated value exceeding $94,000. This site had been previously eradicated in 2020 when deputies seized 231 growing marijuana plants. No suspects were contacted at the site. Evidence was collected and the investigation is ongoing.
