SANTA MONICA – A radio call to an incident with a knife at Fifth and Broadway sent Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) Officers to an assault-with-a- deadly-weapon scene at 11:40 PM on 10/26/2021. Quick response encountered a man with multiple stab wounds – still alert.
As a forensic team and multiple units arrived, the man was holding strong enough to give a lucid account of his assailant as Santa Monica Fire Department arrived to administer medical aid to his many wounds.
An anonymous female suspect had fled the scene. Multiple witnesses gave their descriptions as law enforcement combed the area.
The investigators located a female juvenile matching the provided descriptions, just a few blocks from the bustling tourist spot – The Promenade. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
The girl was booked for 664 187 PC – Attempted Murder, and transported to a juvenile detention center. She is locked away – while awaiting pending charges.
The anonymous male adult victim is currently in stable condition. Santa Monica PD “strongly encourages” anyone who can provide additional information
