“On October 22, 2021 at about 7:48 p.m., Los Banos Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to the Circle K store located at 1704 E. Pacheco Blvd. to investigate a stabbing. The victim of the stabbing sustained life-threatening injuries.
The Gang Unit developed information about the possible suspect vehicle. The Gang Unit attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on a blue Honda Accord 4-door sedan, and it resulted in a high-speed pursuit throughout the City. The pursuit came to an end on State Route 152 just east of Billy Wright Road.
The driver, 26-year-old Jose Espino of Los Banos, was arrested for felony evading. A juvenile occupant was also detained pending further investigation. Investigators determined Espino and the juvenile were involved in the stabbing. Investigators identified a third suspect in the stabbing and arrested 20-year-old Edgar Medina of Los Banos on October 23, 2021.
All of the subjects were arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and participation in a criminal street gang. All suspects remain in custody pending arraignment.
On November 5, 2021, the Los Banos Police Department Detective Division and the Gang Unit located the fourth and final suspect in the October 22, 2021 stabbing, which occurred at the Circle K store in the 1700 Block of E. Pacheco Boulevard.
Officers arrested 23-year-old Michael Jordan Perez at the Merced Superior Court where he was appearing on an unrelated gun possession case. Perez was placed under arrest for a warrant charging him with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime and participation in a criminal street gang. Perez is currently in custody on $1,000,000.00 bail.”
