“On November 4, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., there was a 1-round and 6-round ShotSpotter activation within south Sacramento County. Deputies were dispatched 5 seconds later. The first deputy arrived at the dispatched address 41 seconds after the initial activation.
When deputies and STAR (Air Support) arrived at the dispatched address, they observed subjects of interest inside and outside a residence with probation status. A probation search of the residence revealed a firearm with an extended magazine and prescription pills, cocaine and methamphetamine. The investigation tied a single individual, Dayan Soto (22), to the firearm and drugs.
Soto was transported to the Main Jail on two felony and two misdemeanor counts which include unlawful possession of a controlled substance and loaded firearm, discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of substance without prescription. Soto is being held on $250,000 bail.”
