Couple Accused of Kidnapping, Sexual Assault and Forcing a Girl into Prostitution
SAN LEANDRO — A couple separated by jailhouse bars for Thanksgiving faces charges involving kidnapping and sexual assault of a teenage girl. The victim was kidnapped from Honduras and held captive in a backyard shed in San Leandro.
The victim told the couple’s niece about her horrific ordeal, who in turn enlisted her mother to contact police. Authorities investigated for a few months to learn the facts of the case.
The victim was kidnapped at gunpoint and brought to Texas in May, before being transported to San Leandro. Detectives learned the victim was forced to have sex with her abductor, and later she was forced into prostitution by him.
The man suspected of doing this to her is 41-year-old Juan A. Aguilar, allegedly aided by his wife 39-year-old Margret I. Wilson. They have been incarcerated at Santa Rita Jail since their arrests on October 5.
Aguilar is ineligible for release on bond, pending a pretrial hearing on November 30. Charges filed against him include kidnapping to commit sex crime and human trafficking. In addition, he is charged with forcible rape and forcible oral copulation.
Wilson faces charges for human trafficking of a minor, forcible rape and forcible oral copulation. She allegedly forced the victim to also perform a sex act on her. She remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bond, pending a pretrial hearing on November 30.
