“(Mountain Ranch, CA) On November 23, 2021 around 3:50 PM, a Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant along with Calaveras Probation Officers were in the area of West Murray Creek Road and Salamander Creek near Mountain Ranch.
The Sergeant, driving a marked Calaveras County Sheriff’s patrol truck, observed a subject running from a property. The Sergeant and Probation Officers immediately recognized the subject as Jakob Main (age 43 of Railroad Flat) who was wanted for several felony cases, some of which involved firearms. Jakob Main was considered armed and dangerous.
Main ignored orders to stop and fled into thick vegetation. Other deputies and detectives responded to the area and a perimeter was established. Amador County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and K9 responded to assist along with Officers and a helicopter from the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP Helicopter reported to ground units the location of a subject lying down in the thick brush within the perimeter. Deputies and the K9 were guided to this location and found and arrested Jakob Main without further incident. Main was booked in to the Calaveras County Jail for multiple cases including today’s incident with charges of Resisting or Delaying a Peace Officer – 148(a)(1)PC and Possession of drug paraphernalia 11364H&S. Main was additionally charged with 664/187(a)PC – Attempted Murder, 29800(A)(1)PC – Felon in possession of a firearm, 30305(a)(1)PC – Felon in possession of Ammunition, 12022(c)PC – Armed in commission of a Felony, 1170.12PC Prior Serious or Violent Felony and 1203.2(a)PC Felony Probation Violation from an incident on November 9th, 2021 that occurred on Hidden Valley Road in Mountain Ranch whereas a 42 year old male was reportedly shot by Main.
At the time that incident occurred, the male victim was transported to an area trauma center and treated for the gunshot wound. No further information is available in regards to any of the active and ongoing investigations.
Main was also booked on two felony warrants, which included the following charges:
11352 (a) H&S – Transportation for sale of a controlled substance
11351 H&S – Possession for sale of a controlled substance
11379 H&S – Transportation or selling methamphetamine
11378 H&S – Possession of methamphetamine for sale
2800.2 CVC – Felony reckless evading
29800 (a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of Ammunition
10851 (a) CVC – Vehicle Theft
12022 (c) PC – Armed in Commission of a Felony
1170.12 PC – Prior Serious or Violent Felony (strike)
1203.2(a) PC – Felony Probation Violation
