“At 6:23 a.m. on November 28th, Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance in Colfax.
When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect, 36-year old Benjamin Franklin Winkle of Vacaville, had been wanted in connection to a homicide in Riverside.
Deputies immediately set up a perimeter around Winkle’s motel room and took him into custody a short time later when he exited the room.
Winkle was arrested on a warrant for murder, a misdemeanor warrant, kidnapping, criminal threats, false imprisonment, and other related charges.
Great teamwork by our deputies and detectives to ensure Winkle was safely taken into custody.”
