“On June 25, 2021, at 9:06 PM, Officers responded to the 3600 block of Churn Creek Road for a report of gunshot victim. Officers located Victim Patrick Baker in an apartment and unresponsive after suffering from several gunshot wounds. Medical personnel transported Baker to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed there was a physical altercation between Patrick Baker and other subjects at the apartment complex. During the altercation, a subject fatally shot Baker in the presence of Baker’s wife and 8-year-old daughter.
Detectives ultimately identified the shooting suspect as 28-year-old Supensive Lee. At the time Lee was identified, detectives believed Lee had fled to the Minneapolis, Minnesota area.
On July 7th, 2021, Redding Police Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Lee charging him with the homicide of Baker. On November 25, 2021, the Blaine, Minnesota Police Department responded to a routine noise complaint. Blaine Police contacted Lee who initially provided a false name. Blaine Police discovered Lee’s true identity and arrested him on the outstanding homicide warrant.
On December 7th, 2021, Redding Police Detectives travelled to Minnesota, took custody of Lee, and extradited him back to Redding for questioning and prosecution. Redding Police booked Lee into the Shasta County Jail in the early morning hours of December 8th where he is currently being held without bail.
