The fact that former U.S. President William Jefferson Clinton managed to avoid being labeled as a sex offender by simply uttering the mantra “I did not have sex with that woman” in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary and thereby managed to single-handedly redefine the parameters of oral copulation as non-sexual activity probably won’t help the case of 30-year-old Ventura resident James Duran II.
According to the Ventura City Police Department’s Watch Commander, Duran was arrested on December 14 th pursuant to an investigation that began on November 11, 2021 when a 21-year-old female filed a report with the VPD’s Special Victim’s Unit indicating that she had multiple sexual encounters with Duran from the ages of 14 to 16.
Duran, the son of The River Community Church pastor and himself a “youth pastor,” reportedly engaged in sexual activities with the underage female at “various locations,” including church premises during religious services.
After a month-long investigation that developed further corroborating evidence, an arrest warrant for Duran was issued by the Ventura Superior Court.
It was served on him as “he was trying to visit the victim at her home.” He was taken into custody at the victim’s residence and promptly transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on multiple counts of felony oral copulation upon a person under the age of 16, and an additional count of oral copulation upon a person under the age of 18. His bail is set at $50,000.
