HEMET – Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco announced the latest significant nab by the Gang Task Force on the streets of Hemet. It all began with the sighting of a stolen vehicle.
On December 15th, at 8:14 PM, an occupied stolen vehicle driving in the 700 Block of North Sanderson Avenue came under the scrutiny of Region 3 Gang Task Force Officers. An immediate traffic enforcement stop took place.
While the enforcement ran the IDs of the two individuals in the stolen vehicle – the pair were identified as Emily Craven (the driver) and passenger, Jose Perez Gonzalez Jr. The duo was detained without incident.
However, the stolen car situation gave way to further investigation. As a result, Emily was discovered to have 29 grams of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her possession.
Jose Perez Gonzalez Jr. was not only ID’d for Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS), but added even more to the discoveries. Jose had a loaded 9mm firearm in his possession, as well as several rounds of live ammunition.
“Both subjects were arrested for a variety of charges to include a no-bail PRCS violation for Jose,” said Sergeant Art Paez- Region 3 Gang Task Force. “They were later transported to the Riverside County Jail.”
The Hemet/San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force, which has been in existence since April 2006, is one of five teams comprising the entire Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force. The extensive collaboration of various law enforcement agencies work together daily – with the goal of combatting criminal street gangs.
