“Yesterday, detectives with the Property Crimes Unit and MADCAT tracked down 28-year-old Betssi Sandoval and 45-year-old Eloy Torres Gonzalez in the city of Seaside.
Sandoval was wanted in connection to a previous MADCAT investigation regarding a stolen vehicle. Detectives had been investigating Gonzalez for his involvement in selling drugs.
Patrol deputies stopped the vehicle Gonzalez was driving with Sandoval as his passenger. During the investigation, detectives located methamphetamine concealed in the vehicle.
Later in the day, detectives served a search warrant in the 1000 Blk of N. Sandborn Road in the city of Salinas.
During the investigation, detectives discovered a pound of methamphetamine, heroin, cash and a stolen handgun hidden in the residence.
Gonzalez is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm due to his past criminal convictions.
Gonzalez was booked into Monterey County jail on various weapons and drug charges. Sandoval was booked on numerous arrest warrants and drug charges
