“On Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 2108 hours, Adam Pearson reported an intoxicated man, later identified as Danny Joe Sliger 68 years-old of Shasta Lake, was firing a shotgun in the air in the front yard of a residence on the 5000 block of Red Bluff Street in Shasta Lake. Pearson reported Danny was involved in a verbal altercation with his adult son, Daniel Thomas Sliger, when he fired a shotgun in the air. Danny also pointed the gun at Daniel before going into his RV trailer parked on the property.
A few moments later, Danny exited his RV and fired more shots from a revolver and threatened Daniel and other subjects standing in the front yard of the adjacent residence. Daniel and a friend who arrived on scene prior to deputies were able to take the firearms away from Danny and waited for deputies to arrive.
When deputies arrived at the residence, numerous subjects were detained in the front yard of the residence. Through the investigation, deputies confirmed Danny was intoxicated, fired multiple shots in the air, and threatened multiple people on scene. Firearms and ammunition used in the incident were found in Danny’s RV trailer and taken as evidence.
Danny was arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail on felony charges of Criminal Threats, Negligent Discharge of a Firearm, and a misdemeanor charge of Disorderly Conduct: Public Intoxication. Danny was also found to be a convicted felon and charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition were added.
