Just when you might think that the current Covid resurgence might encourage people to maintain social distancing protocols…just when you might think that during the Holiday Season folks with obvious sexually aberrant compulsions might work to restrain themselves…well, that’s when you’d be surprised to learn that criminals rarely consult The Book of Normal Behavior before they do the things they do.
Case in point: according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Det. Nicole Adrianzen, for the past two months, deputies attached to the VCSD East County Major Crimes/Sexual Assault Unit has been on the hunt for “an unknown male suspect” reported by a female on October 27, 2021 as allegedly photographing and recording her as she used the facilities in a public restroom.
When the victim summarily confronted her photographer, he “denied having a cell phone” but had the tables turned on him when she “took a photo of the suspect with her phone over the restroom stall door.”
The suspect then hastily fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. The ensuing investigation led detectives to identify and make contact with 39-year-old Los Angeles County resident Juventino Jesus Miranda Cardona who just happened to have a cell phone in his possession at the time. That cell phone was seized as evidence.
A subsequent “search” of Cardona’s phone revealed “several videos of unidentified female victims utilizing toilets,” as well as multiple videos of females shopping at various stores that featured “footage recorded underneath females’ skirts, dresses, and shorts exposing their underwear.”
An arrest warrant was issued and executed upon Cardona on December 24 th . He was transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on multiple charges of invasion of privacy, with his bail set at $10,000.
