“Thanks to one of our eagle-eyed deputies, a Carmichael man burglarizing a building under construction in Rocklin was caught and arrested!
On December 22nd at 3:30 a.m., a deputy patrolling Cincinnati Avenue in Rocklin noticed a flash of light inside a new construction building. When he drove closer to investigate, he saw an SUV quickly turn around and speed away.
The deputy caught up to the suspect’s vehicle and pulled him over. The deputy identified the driver as 33-year-old James Watson, of Carmichael.
Inside Watson’s vehicle, the deputy found $2,800 worth of streetlamps and copper pipes stolen from the building under construction.
Copper is commonly sold by thieves to recycling centers for cash.
