“PRESS RELEASE from the Yuba-Sutter Narcotic and Gang Enforcement Task Force (NET-5):
On Thursday, December 16th, 2021, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Agents from NET-5 and Officers from the Yuba City Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Sutter Street in Yuba City. The two occupants of the vehicle were identified as, 21-year-old Hispanic male adult, Gelacio Farias (Driver) of Yuba City and 21-year-old Hispanic male adult, Sebastian Ramirez-Corona (passenger) of Yuba City.
During the stop, Ramirez-Corona had a loaded concealed firearm on his person, 100 counterfeit prescription pills containing fentanyl, and $1,028 in U.S. Currency.
NET-5 Agents responded to Farias’ residence in the 300 block of Second Street, Yuba City, and conducted a probation search. During the search of Farias’ bedroom, Agents found approximately 2.5 ounces of cocaine and two additional loaded firearms. Farias, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was also found to have $910 in U.S. Currency.
As a result of the investigation, Farias was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail for drug sales charges and prohibited possession of ammunition and a firearm per sections: 11351 of the California Health and Safety Code, 29800(a)(1) of the California Penal Code, and 30305(a) of the California Penal Code.
Ramirez-Corona was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail for possession for sale of controlled substances and possessing a loaded concealed firearm not registered to his person, per sections: 11351 of the California Health and Safety Code, 25850(a) and 25850(c)(6) of the California Penal Code. The investigation has been sent to the Sutter County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
