“At 9:13 p.m. on January 12, Placer County Sheriff’s detectives attempted to conduct a traffic stop on westbound Interstate 80, near the Atlantic Street exit.
The driver of the vehicle failed to yield to detectives and led them on a pursuit, at times, swerving in and out of traffic.
During the pursuit, the driver would suddenly accelerate and decelerate, causing other drivers to take evasive actions to avoid a collision.
The driver eventually pulled over and was identified as 26-year-old Alonso Moya Jimenez, of Sacramento.
Jimenez was found to be under the influence of alcohol at nearly three times the legal limit. He was arrested for felony evading and driving under the influence.
We’d like to thank the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office helicopter for assisting during the pursuit.”
