Man arrested in connection to two alleged burglaries in as many days
A Mendocino County man was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary in connection to two incidents in as many days, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Late on the night of January 8th, deputies were called to a residence on the 700 block of Reeves Canyon, in Redwood Valley, after the homeowners had come home to find their place ransacked and several items stolen, including the ATV that had been sitting out front. An unoccupied vehicle on the property had also been burglarized. Deputies later found the ATV crashed and abandoned a short distance away, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Shortly after 2 AM the next morning, January 9, deputies responded to another reported burglary on the 1400 block of Reeves Canyon. The property owners told deputies they’d heard their dogs barking, which was unusual, and that they could see that the lights were on in one of the two houses on the property.
Responding deputies entered the house and quickly located the suspect, identified as 48-year-old Dominic Singleton, hiding in one of the bedrooms. Singleton reportedly refused to cooperate or provide his name, but one of the deputies recognized him from a prior incident. He was found to be in possession of items stolen during the previous night’s burglary, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Singleton, who was found to be on active CDC parole, was taken into custody and booked at the Mendocino County Jail without bail.
